Recently John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods, made an idiotic post about health care that has the Internets in an uproar. Obviously a billionaire who’s never gone a day without health coverage has some pretty upsetting views on health insurance. However, John did get one amazing thing correct in his article in the wall street journal:
Recent scientific and medical evidence shows that a diet consisting of foods that are plant-based, nutrient dense and low-fat will help prevent and often reverse most degenerative diseases that kill us and are expensive to treat. We should be able to live largely disease-free lives until we are well into our 90s and even past 100 years of age.
Unfortunately, when The Consumerist (a blog I enjoy) covered this story they read his statement as some sort of advertisement for Whole Foods. When was the last time you went to Whole Foods? Because the last time I was there the place was jammed wall to wall with processed foods, meat products, and cheese as far as the eye can see.
John basically told the world not to eat 95% of the products in his stores.

LOL – you’re right! We need to start a 100% vegan alternative to Whole Foods Market.
